Requested a status match via 'contact us' and got an email reply within a couple of hours. Customer service rep asked me to supply flight history for the past 6 months and a photo of membership card. After I have supplied what was requested (past 6 and future bookings as I had more long hauls going forward). I got an email back in less than a day informing me that a decision will be made in (up to) 6 weeks. I didn't get a confirmation, but today (3 weeks after request made) I went in to choose seats on my EK flight next week and my account level was updated to silver and I was able to select seats for free.
