Followed the link to the customer service request form (www4.thy.com/customercontact/index.tkf
) and asked for status match from British Airways Gold/OWE. Attached PDFs of transaction history for the preceding six months and of my electronic membership card. Received a reply about a week later asking for a photo of the front and back of my BA card which I sent. Then was asked for my Smiles and Miles membership number - I'd signed up while this was going on (please note: you'll need to activate your membership using the same form you use for sign-up. Rather confusing, as no instructions provided for this!). Logging on to my Smiles and Miles account, saw that I'm now Elite status on Turkish. Painless process (apart from the curious activation stage) and now looking forward to using the Star Alliance Gold facilities on a trip to the Far East in a few days.
