statusmatch.com now charges US$395 for the match from EY to EK. Contacted EK directly, was told to use statusmatch.com as its their official partner. After informing them about the $395 price tag they advised not to pay and handled the request internally. Result: Offered a challenge (2x eco flight or 1x biz/first flight) to attain the next higher status of what you're currently holding, i.e. EK Blue gets EK Silver, EK Silver gets EK Gold, no matching for EK Platinum.
Just wanted to say thank you! After seeing your post, I contact Emirates via online chat and asked to match BA Gold Guest List to Emirates. They agreed to match 1 level above for no fee - in my case blue to silver - after 1 x first or business class return or 2 x economy return flights.
