According to their customer service department, the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club does not grant status matches. In spite of this official position, there have been reports of successful matches in the past. If you can make a strong case for a match (e.g. with evidence of extensive travel with a rival airline), I would suggest you contact Virgin Atlantic directly and ask for a match.
