Called Marriott Rewards at 800-321-7396 and asked for "Rewards Status Challenge". It took a few minute for them to sign you up over the phone. You have 3 months to complete 6 Stays (which can be done in as little as 6 nights (switching hotels)). I did not receive any kind of confirmation email, nor does it say anything about the challenge on your Rewards account site. NOTE: You can only do the challenge for one tier upgrade (Silver to Gold), so if you are close to another tier, I would wait until you reach the next tier before requesting the Status Challenge. You are NOT given the Upgraded Status until the challenge is complete. I have successfully completed the challenge and I called Marriott Rewards once my 6th stay was posted. I told them I completed the challenge, to which they reviewed the stays, contacted a supervisor, and upgraded my account to Gold Status.
