I used Sixt many times : cars are great AND expensive but they ALWAYS refused to upgrade for free.
I could get better prices on upgrades at Frontdesk but after hard talks
Sixt should give free upgrade in US if you are Platinum Member. At least they do to me anyway. I also often got free upgrades in Europe but i was renting multiple times a week.
