I initially applied for a status match from my British Airways Gold card but this was rejected. I then applied on the basis of my earlier pre-Covid travel with Turkish Airlines (where I have soon-to-expire Elite status) and I was successfully matched to Sindbad Gold within 5 days. In both cases I submitted a copy of my cards and flight history statement.
